*Study Sessions are for the purpose of allowing the City Council. Commissioners and staff to
informally discuss and better understand major issues currently before the City.

ITEM 1 FISCAL YEAR 2014-2015 BUDGET — Each year the City goes through a
budget process to develop the annual budget. The process,.-. approximately s.x
months, usually beginning in January and culminating in June with the adoption
of a balanced annual budget. The budget process involves the City Council, the
Executive Team, all City departments, and the community.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive the presentation on the state of the
budget including the budget message and the City's fiscal status and outlook.

RECONVENE
ITEM 2 ARTS IN SANTA CLARITA — At the November 12, 2013 City Council
meeting, the Council discussed three art projects that the Arts Commission had
recommended for approval by the Council. The direction from the Council was to
place a hold on the art projects and schedule a joint study session with the Arts
Commission to discuss the Council's expectations and desires as it relates to
public art in Santa Clarita.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: City Council and Arts Commission receive a
presentation on the history of arts in Santa Clarita.
