BACKGROUND The City of Santa Clarita (City) regularly uses contractual services on an as -needed basis to assist staff with building plan review and inspection of new buildings during periods of high construction activity. Contractual support for building plan review and building inspection helps supplement staff' -s effort to reduce plan check turnaround time and manage the inspection workload as demand fluctuates. Contractual services help maintain appropriate staffing and custorrier service levels. As part ofthe selection process, the City conducted a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals from companies who provide building plan review, building inspection, and permit - related professional services. Forty-two companies downloaded the REP, and eight proposals were received by the City during the process (see attached list). The proposals were reviewed and evaluated based on each company's ability to meet the specific needs of tile City in two P5 F0 1.
