RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council discuss and provide direction regarding recognition of the late Parks, Recreation,
and Community Services Commissioner Duane R. Harte.

At the February 23, 2016, City Council meeting, Mayor Bob Kellar requested that an item be
added to the City Council agenda to discuss options to honor and recognize the late Parks,
Recreation, and Community Services Commissioner Duane Harte, who passed away on
November 23, 2015.
Duane, a longtime Santa Clarita resident, dedicated himself to our City and served on many
boards and committees throughout his life. At the time of his passing Duane served as the Chair
of the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commission.
