HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-09-27 - RESOLUTIONS - COUNTY AID-TO-CITIES FUNDS (2)RESOLUTION NO. 16-63 CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES RESOLUTION 3972 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING AN ALLOCATION AND PAYMENT OF COUNTY AID -TO -CITIES FUNDS FROM THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has appropriated certain funds to the City of Santa Clarita as County Aid -to -Cities funds, in the amount of Five Thousand Four Hundred Fifty -Nine and 00/100 Dollars ($5,459.00); and WHEREAS, the County Board of Supervisors has adopted policies limiting the use of said funds to regional traffic signal synchronization projects, transportation system management and congestion management projects that improve regional traffic mobility; or the design, acquisition of right of way, and construction of City streets on the County's Highway Plan, which are of general County interest and regional significance; and WHEREAS, the City desires to expend the amount of Five Thousand Four Hundred Fifty -Nine and 00/100 Dollars ($5,459.00) of said funds for a project in accordance with said County policies; and WHEREAS, in order to receive said funds from the County, the City must first request said funds through the adoption of a resolution by the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita, California, does hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows: Section 1. The County is hereby requested to allocate Five Thousand Four Hundred Fifty -Nine and 00/100 Dollars ($5,459.00) of the County's Aid -to -Cities funds apportioned to the City of Santa Clarita for the Intelligent Transportation System Phase IV project that will improve regional traffic mobility in accordance with the County Board of Supervisors' policy regarding the use of said County Aid -to -Cities funds. Section 2. After the County Board of Supervisors approves said allocation, and the funds are made available, the County is requested to send such allocated amounts to the City when claimed. The City will begin using the funds for said project according to the terms of the allocation. Section 3. The City Clerk of Santa Clarita is directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the County Director of Public Works for processing. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 27th day of September 2016.
