RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA,
CALIFORNIA, TO ESTABLISH A 400 -FOOT NO -STOPPING ANYTIME ZONE ALONG
THE EAST SIDE OF RAILROAD AVENUE STARTING AT 100 FEET NORTH OF 15th
STREET AND RAILROAD AVENUE THENCE NORTHERLY DIRECTION AT A
DISTANCE OF 400 FEET.
WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code of the State of California
provides for local authorities to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles on certain
streets or highways or portions thereof during certain or all hours of the day; and
WHEREAS, a no -stopping anytime zone along the east side of Railroad Avenue,
starting at 100 feet north of 15th street and extending a distance of 400 feet north will improve
safety and reduce a visual nuisance from transient vehicles stored and offered for sale in the area.
WHEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to establish a
no -stopping anytime zone along the east side of Railroad Avenue to eliminate extensive vehicle
parking on one of the arterial roads in the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita does hereby
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That a no -stopping anytime zone along the east side of Railroad
Avenue, starting at 100 feet north of 15th street and extending a distance of 400 feet north is
established.
SECTION 2. That the establishing of the no -stopping anytime zone shall apply when
appropriate signs and/or curb markings giving adequate notice therefore have been placed as
described in Section 1.
City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
