CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Weste.
ROLL CALL
All Councilmembers were present.
FLAG SALUTE
Councilmember Kellar led the flag salute.
HART HIGH SHOW CHOIR CAROLING GROUP
The Hart High Show Choir Caroline Group performed for the City Council and members of the
public.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION FOR AGENDIZED ITEMS (ONE MINUTE LIMIT)
No requests to speak were received.

OUTGOING MAYOR MAKES COMMENTS
Mayor Weste commented on the City's 2018 accomplishments.
PRESENTATION TO OUTGOING MAYOR BY CITY MANAGER
City Manager Ken Striplin highlighted the Mayor's accomplishments and presented the Mayor
with a memento.
The Mayor stated she was thankful and grateful for the support she received from everyone.

RESOLUTION RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD
ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2018
On December 4, 2018, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors declared the November 6, 2018,
General Election results officially concluded.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
City Council adopt a resolution reciting the fact of the General Municipal Election held on
November 6, 2018, declaring the results and such other matters as provided by law.

OATH OF OFFICE TO ELECTED COUNCILMEMBERS
Deputy City Clerk Amanda Santos administered the Oath of Office to newly elected
Councilmembers Weste, McLean, and Miranda and presented Certificates of Election to all
three.
NOMINATIONS FOR MAYOR 2019
OUTGOING MAYOR TURNS GAVEL OVER TO CITY CLERK
Mayor Weste turned the gavel over to Deputy City Clerk Amanda Santos.

NOMINATIONS FOR MAYOR FOR
Deputy City Clerk Amanda Santos opened the nominations for the office of Mayor.
Motion by Kellar, second by `'''este, to nominate Councilmember Smyth as Mayor 2019.
Substitute Motion by McLean, second by Miranda to nominate Mayor Pro Tern McLean as
Mayor 2019.

Council discussed their options for Mayor and the two motions on the floor. City Attorney

Montes responded that the substitute nomination should be voted on first.

Absent: None
Motion carried.
CITY CLERK SWEARS IN NEW MAYOR
Deputy City Clerk Amanda Santos administered the Oath of Office to incoming Mayor McLean.
CITY CLERK TURNS GAVEL OVER TO NEW MAYOR
Deputy City Clerk Amanda Santos presented the gavel to Mayor McLean.
NOMINATIONS FOR MAYOR PRO TEM 2019
Mayor McLean opened the nominations for Mayor Pro Tern 2019.
Motion by `Neste, second by Kellar, to nominate Councilmember Smyth as Mayor Pro Tern
2019.
Hearing no further nominations, the nomination period was closed.
On roll call vote:
Ayes: Smyth, Weste, Kellar, Miranda, McLean
Noes: None
Absent: None
Motion carried.
NEW MAYOR ACCEPTANCE SPEECH
Mayor McLean commented regarding looking forward to working with staff and residents to
accomplish significant issues and insure all our communities are given equal representation.
COUNCIL COMMENTS
Councilmember Kellar congratulated Mayor McLean and offered his support to make 2019 a
great year.
ADJOURN
Mayor McLean adjourned the Special meeting at 6:31 p.m.
