Monday, May 7, 2018
Call to Order: Mayor Weste called the Study Session to order at
5:31 p.m.
Roll Call
Council: All Councilmembers were present with the
exception of Councilmember Smyth who arrived at
5:38 p.m.
Planning Commission: All Commissioners were present with the exception
of Chair Eichman.
Parks, Recreation and Community All Commissioners were present.
Services Commission:
Arts Commission: All Commissioners were present with the exception
of Chair Shapiro.
Flag Salute: Assistant City Manager Frank Oviedo led the flag
salute.
ITEM 1 FISCAL YEAR 2018-2019 BUDGET — City Manager Ken Striplin provided an
update on the state of the economy; and gave an overview of the proposed Fiscal
Year 2018-2019 budget and CIP Plan.
Council and Commission members' comments and concerns included quality of
life issues; bus routes; Arts Master Plan; Canyon Country Community Center;
Sand Canyon project; Via Princessa Park; recreation equipment and maintenance;
Hometown Heroes Military Banner Program; David March Park; local
transitional care unit; arts center; and trails maintenance.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
None.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Weste adjourned the Study Session at 6:18 p.m.
