Award a contract to Santa Barbara Transportation Corporation, DBA Student Transportation of America, for bus services for Recreation and Community Services programs in the amount of $87,847.02, and authorize a 10 percent contingency of $8,785, for a total contract amount not to exceed $96,632.02. 2. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents, subject to City Attorney approval, and execute up to two renewal options, not to exceed $96,632.02 each, plus Consumer Price Index adjustments. BACKGROUND The Recreation and Community Services Division provides annual programs for City of Santa Clarita residents. Some of these programs, including Camp Clarita, Junior Lifeguards, and Canyon Country and Newhall Community Centers, require charter bus services for the purpose of transporting program participants. In January 2020, Purchasing solicited bids for bus charter services incorporating the Recreation and Community Services Division's needs. The invitation to bid was posted on the City's solicitation website, Planet Bids, on January 27, 2020. The bid was sent to 449 vendors. A total of 17 Vendors downloaded the bid, and one electronic response was received, as noted below: Company Location Cost Santa Barbara Transportation Corporation, Goleta, CA $87,847.02 DBA Student Transportation of America Page 1 Packet Pg. 169 After reviewing vendor qualifications and the amount of bid responses, staff determined Santa Barbara Transportation Corporation, DBA Student Transportation of America's bid is responsive and the lowest bidder. Staff recommends that the contract be awarded to Santa Barbara Transportation Corporation, DBA Student Transportation of America. ALTERNATIVE ACTION Other action as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT Adequate funds to support the recommended action have been appropriated in expenditure account 15104-5161.002, 15113-5161.002, 15312-5161.002, and 15315-5161.002. Page 2 Packet Pg. 170
