A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA,
CALIFORNIA, DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO THE CITY MANAGER FOR
TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES FOR CELEBRATIONS, PARADES, LOCAL
SPECIAL EVENTS, AND OTHER PURPOSES PURSUANT TO
CALIFORNIA VEHICLE CODE SECTION 21101
WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21101 authorizes the temporary closing of
a portion of a street under control of a city for celebrations, parades, local special events, and
other purposes when, in the opinion of a public officer or employee that the city designates by
resolution, the closing is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that
portion of the street during the temporary closing.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita, California, does
hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to temporarily close portions of
streets for celebrations, parades, local special events, and other purposes when the closing is
necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street during
the temporary closing.
' SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
