BACKGROUND Victor Lindenheim served as a valued member of the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commission since his appointment in 2017. His recent resignation has created an unscheduled vacancy on the commission with a term that ends December 31, 2022. Mayor Miranda nominated Commissioner Lindenheim and is the nominating authority for the vacancy. On June 21, 2021, a Special Notice of an Unscheduled Vacancy was posted at City Hall, all Santa Clarita Public Libraries, and on the City website in compliance with Government Code section 54974 and City Council Resolution 91-194. Additionally, a notice was published in The Signal newspaper on June 24, 2021. Vacancy and application information was also made available on the City's website, through social media, and in the City Clerk's Office. The deadline for receipt of applications was Thursday, July 15, 2021, at which time the City Clerk caused the distribution of applications to the nominating authority and the entire City Council. A list of applicants is attached, and all applications are available in the reading file. ALTERNATIVE ACTION Other action as directed by the City Council. As a result of an unscheduled vacancy, one unexpired term of officethat ends December 31, 2022, is available on the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commission. Applicants must be 18 years or older and must maintain their principal residence in the City of Santa Clarita during their term of office. Residents may obtain further information from the City Clerk's Office by calling 661-255-4391.
