A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA,
CALIFORNIA, TO ESTABLISH A 2,500-FOOT NO STOPPING ANYTIME ZONE ON THE
NORTH SIDE OF MAGIC MOUNTAIN PARKWAY, AND A 1,550-FOOT NO STOPPING
ANYTIME ZONE ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF MAGIC MOUNTAIN PARKWAY, BETWEEN
TOURNEY ROAD AND FAIRWAYS
WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code of the State of California
provides for local authorities to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles on certain
streets or highways, or portions thereof during certain or all hours of the day; and
WHEREAS, a No Stopping Anytime zone on the north and south side of Magic
Mountain Parkway, between Tourney Road and Fairways, will reduce the visual nuisance from
overnight and long-term heavy vehicle parking and prepare the roadway for the futur-e
improvement to eight lanes; and
WHEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to establish a
2,500-foot No Stopping Anytime zone on the north side of Magic Mountain Parkway, between
Tourney Road and Fairways; and
WHEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to establish a
1,550-foot No Stopping Anytime zone on the south side of Magic Mountain Parkway, between
Tourney Road and Fairways.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita, California, does
hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That a 2,500-foot No Stopping Anytime zone on the north side of Magic
Mountain Parkway, between Tourney Road and Fairways, shall be established.
SECTION 2. That a 1,550-foot No Stopping Anytime zone on the south side of
Magic Mountain Parkway, between Tourney Road and Fairways, shall be established.
SECTION 3. That the 2,500-foot No Stopping Anytime zone shall apply when
appropriate signs giving adequate notice thereof have been placed as described in Section 1.
SECTION 4. That the 1,550-foot No Stopping Anytime zone shall apply when
appropriate signs giving adequate notice thereof have been placed as described in Section 2.
SECTION 5. That staff shall install the necessary signs to effect this resolution.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
