SUBJECT: ISSUING THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR
CANYON COUNTRY PARK, UPPER SLOPE CONSTRUCTION
DEPARTMENT: PARKS, RECREATION, AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
BACKGROUND
The reconstruction of the upper slope at Canyon Country Park per the project plans and specifications has
been completed to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services. The
reconstruction was necessary due to the flood damage inflicted by the rains of 1992.
The account numberfor this project is 01-99041-227, with total project costs of $27,910. The project has
been funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). All costs have been approved by
the contractor and the Director of the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department. To this
date, 90% of the contract has been paid, while the 10% retention has been withheld awaiting the filing of
the Notice of Completion. If stop notices are received by the City after the filing of the Notice of
Completion, but prior to the 35 -day waiting period, the entire 10% retention will not be released, but will
be reduced by the amount of the stop notices.
RECOMMENDATION
The City Council accept the work performed by R. C. Becker & Son, Inc, and authorize release of funds
held for retention, with the exception of sufficient funds ($2,791) to cover stop notices which may be filed
prior to the end of the 35 -day waiting period.
The City Council also direct the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion for the project.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT AND WORK
CANYON COUNTRY PARK UPPER SLOPE RECONSTRUCTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County, California,
has caused a public improvement, to wit:
PROJECT ACCOUNT NO. 01-99041-227
to be constructed upon the property hereinafter described. The contract for furnishing of all labor,
services, materials, and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and
water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike
manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans, and drawings therefore on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Santa Clarita, for the construction, installation, and
completion of the above described public improvement and work, was heretofore made and
entered into by R. C. Becker & Son, Inc. on the t day of August 1993, and filed for record in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Santa Clarita; that the work upon said public improvement
was actually completed on the 4th day of May 1994, and that the Director of Parks, Recreation,
and Community Services has notified the City Council that he has made and completed a final
inspection of the materials furnished and installed and the work performed in the construction,
installation, and completion of said public improvement hereinabove more particularly described
and set forth, and has certified in writing to the City Council that all of the provisions of the
contract and contract documents for the furnishing of all labor, services, materials, and equipment,
and the performing of all work necessary for the construction, installation, and completion of said
public improvement above described have been complied with to his satisfaction as required by
the contract documents; that final acceptance of the construction, installation, and completion of
said public improvement above described was made on the _day of 199 .
