HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-06-28 - AGENDA REPORTS - VALENCIA MEADOWS PARK AQUATICSAGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval Item to be presented Rick CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: June 28, 1994 SUBJECT: Valencia Meadows Park Aquatics Facility Repairs DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services BACKGROUND Severe damage from the January 17 earthquake resulted in the need to replace the pool filters and to install a new boiler at the Valencia Meadows facility. These repairs have been deemed eligible for FEMA reimbursement and will be charged against account #90-79-974-227. Repairs should be completed on or before June 30, 1994. On May 18, 1994, the City Clerk opened bid packages, with the record of bid opening as follows: COMPANY LOCATION AMOUNT California Commercial Pools Glendora $ 20,468.00 Pool Supply of Orange County Santa Ana $ 22,447.72 Nadar, Inc. Altadena $ 26,300.00 Connors Plumbing and Heating Los Angeles $ 39,913.54 The lowest responsible bidder was deemed to be California Commercial Pools of Glendora. To expedite the repair process so that the pools can open in time for summer aquatics classes, a contract with California Commercial Pools was approved as to form by the City Attorney on June 8, 1994, and a contract was executed on June 9, 1994.
