SUBJECT: Valencia Meadows Park Aquatics Facility Repairs
DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services
BACKGROUND
Severe damage from the January 17 earthquake resulted in the need to replace the pool filters
and to install a new boiler at the Valencia Meadows facility. These repairs have been deemed
eligible for FEMA reimbursement and will be charged against account #90-79-974-227. Repairs
should be completed on or before June 30, 1994.
On May 18, 1994, the City Clerk opened bid packages, with the record of bid opening as follows:

The lowest responsible bidder was deemed to be California Commercial Pools of Glendora. To
expedite the repair process so that the pools can open in time for summer aquatics classes, a
contract with California Commercial Pools was approved as to form by the City Attorney on
June 8, 1994, and a contract was executed on June 9, 1994.
RECOMMENDATION
The City Council ratify the contract with California Commercial Pools for the repair of the aquatics
facility at Valencia Meadows Park.
