SUBJECT: Ordinance 94-5 amending Title 8, Animals, Chapter 8.24 and 8.90
relating to Cats and Fee Schedule
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
BACKGROUND
Staff introduced Ordinance 94-5 at the Council meeting on June 14, 1994. At that time,
Council requested that the cat licensing program remain voluntary and that change was
incorporated into the item presented at the June 28, 1994 public hearing. Council then
requested that staff clarify the fee amounts in Ordinance 94-5 by notating the surcharge fee.
This change has been incorporated into Ordinance 94-5 (attached).
RECOMMENDATION
Waive further reading and adopt Ordinance No. 94-5.

ORDINANCE NO. 94-5
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA
AMENDING TITLE 8, ANIMALS, CHAPTERS 8.24 AND 8.90
OF THE SANTA CLARITA MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING
CATS AND FEE SCHEDULE RESPECTIVELY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Santa Clarita Municipal Code is hereby amended at Chapter 8.90 relating
to Fee Schedule to read as follows:

VI: Individual Animal Licenses
A. Dog License and tag fees
1. Unspayed/unneutered
$22.00 (includes $2 surcharge)
2. Spayed/neutered
$12.00 (includes $2 surcharge)
3. Senior citizen - spayed/
$7.00 (includes $2 surcharge)
neutered dog
4. Delinquency charge for
$20.00
annual license renewal
not obtained on or before
date of expiration
5. Replacement dog tag
$5.00
6. Transfer of Ownership
$5.00
7. Discharged military dogs

(one-time registration fee)
8. Guide dogs or seeing -eye

Section 2.The City Clerk shall certify the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same
to be published as required by law.
