SUBJECT: CONTINUING THE LOCAL EMERGENCY

BACKGROUND
Approval
This item is on the agenda pursuant to Government Code Section 8630, which states the
governing body shall review, at least every 14 days until such local emergency is
terminated, the need for continuing the local emergency.:
Since the City Council will not conduct regular meetings on July 26th and August 9th,
the need to conduct two special meetings, with a majority of the Council, is in order.
The special meetings will be for the purpose of continuing the local emergency only.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council continue the local emergency for the next 14 days and direct staff to post
agendas for special meetings to be held on July 26th and August 9th at 4:00 p.m., for
the sole purpose of continuing the emergency
