SUBJECT: OFF -SYSTEM ROADS
(CANYON COUNTRY, SAUGUS, VALENCIA, NEWHALL,
AND VALENCIA INDUSTRIAL CENTER)
PROJECT NO. 95-903 -PROJECT ACCEPTANCE
DEPARTMENT: Community Development
At the meeting of March 22, 1994, Council ratified contracts entered into by the City
Manager under authority of the California State Public Contract Code, Section 22035,
Emergencies procedure, for emergency street restoration related to the January 17, 1994
Northridge earthquake.
E.C. Construction Co., South El Monte, California, has completed emergency street
restoration work on Project No. 95-903, Off -System Roads (Canyon Country, Saugus,
Valencia, Newhall, and Valencia Industrial Center). This project was completed to the
satisfaction of the Director of Community Development on May 3, 1994 for a total project cost
of $230,897.27.
RECOMMENDATION
1. That Council accept the work performed by E. C. Construction Co.
2. That Council direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of Completion for the project.
3. The staff be directed to release the ten percent retention 35 days after the Notice of
Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices as provided by law have been filed.
