SUBJECT: SOUND, STAGE, TRUSSING, LIGHTING, AND POWER
CONTRACT FOR CONCERTS IN THE PARK
DEPARTMENT: Economic Development

RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council:
Award a contract to SOS Entertainment for sound, stage, trussing, lighting, and power
services for the 2024 Concerts in the Park series, in an amount of $95,000; and authorize a
contingency of $9,500, for a total amount not to exceed $104,500.
2. Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute up to four optional, one-year renewals,
not to exceed the annual contract amount, inclusive of a contingency of $9,500, plus an
adjustment consistent with the appropriate Consumer Price Index, upon request of the
contractor.
3. Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute all contracts and associated documents
subject to City Attorney approval.
BACKGROUND
The City of Santa Clarita (City) entertains thousands of residents and visitors each year at the
annual Concerts in the Park held at Central Park. Beginning on July 6, 2024, the series runs for
eight consecutive weeks, culminating on August 24.
The City's Purchasing division, in collaboration with the Arts and Events division, issued an
invitation to bid for sound, stage, trussing, lighting, and power services for the Concerts in the
Park series. The invitation to bid was publicly advertised on January 26, 2024, on BidNet, the
City's e-procurement platform. The bid was downloaded by 20 vendors, and two bids were
received. Purchasing staff opened the bids on February 27, 2024. The results are as follows:

Staff recommends City Council award the contract to SOS Entertainment for sound, stage,
trussing, lighting, and power services for the 2024 Concerts in the Park series, with the option of
four one-year renewals.

Other action as determined by the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
The funds for this agreement have been requested in the expenditure account 1003607-512103
(Concerts in the Park -Equipment Rental), as part of the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget and are
contingent upon appropriation of the funds by the City Council. Funds for future years are
contingent upon appropriation of funds by the City Council during the annual budget process.
