A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA,
CALIFORNIA, INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE SANTA CLARITA
LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING DISTRICT AND THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF
ASSESSMENTS FOR EACH ZONE WITHIN THE SANTA CLARITA LANDSCAPING
AND LIGHTING DISTRICT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024-25
WHEREAS, the City Council of Santa Clarita (City Council), California, pursuant to the
provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, being Division 1.5 of the, Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California (Act), desires to initiate proceedings for the Santa
Clarita Landscape and Lighting District (District) inclusive of Streetlighting Zones _A and B, and
Landscaping Zones 1, 2, 3, 3A, 4, 5, 5A, 6, 7, 7A, 8, 15, 16, 17, 18; 19,-20; 2f 23, 2-3, 24, 25, 26,
27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, T1, T1B, T2, T2A,T3, T3B, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, TI7, T20, T73, T23-1,
T23-2, T23A, T23B, T29, T31-1, T31-IA, T31-2, T33, T44, T46, 147, T48, T51,T52_T62, T65,
T65A, T65B, T67, T68, T69, T71, T76, T77, and 2008-1 (Area -wide Beautificatior),.far the levy
and collection of assessments within the District for Fiscal Year 2023-24, And -for -the purposes
provided therefore in the Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has retained Willdan Financial Services for the purpose of
assisting with the annual levy of assessments for the District and to prepare and file a report with
amm the City Clerk in accordance with Article 4, commencing with Section 22565, of Chapter 1 of the
Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita, California, does
hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Annual Levy Report: The City Council hereby orders Willdan Financial
Services, acting as Assessment Engineer, to prepare and file with the City Clerk an Engineer's
Report concerning the installation, construction, or maintenance of any authorized improvements
under the Act, any proposed new improvements or any substantial changes in existing
improvements, and the levy and collection of the proposed Fiscal Year 2024-25 assessments for
the District as required by the provisions of the Act.
SECTION 2. Improvements: The installation, construction, or maintenance of any
authorized improvements under the Act, including, but not limited to, streetlighting, traffic
signals, landscape and irrigation improvements, and any facilities which are appurtenant to any
of the aforementioned or which are necessary or convenient for the maintenance or servicing
thereof.
SECTION 3. Adoption: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
