RESOLUTION NO.24-62
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA,
CALIFORNIA, SUMMARILY VACATING A PORTION OF THE PUBLIC RIGHT-
OF-WAY AND AN EASEMENT FOR SLOPE PURPOSES LOCATED ALONG
SAND CANYON ROAD, CREATED ON PARCEL MAP NO. 8244, FILED IN
BOOK 174 PAGES 14 AND 15, OF MAPS
WHEREAS, the offer of dedication being summarily vacated fully meets the requirements
of Section 8331 of the Streets and Highways Code, which states "The legislative body.of a local
agency may summarily vacate a street or highway if both of the following conditions exist: (a)
For a period of five consecutive years, the street or highway has beemimpassable for vehicular
travel. (b) No public money was expended for maintenance on the street -or highway during such
period"; and the current owner requests that a portion of the public right--of--way be vacated; and
WHEREAS, under Chapter 4, Summary Vacation of Part 3 of Division 9 of the California
Streets and Highways Code, no public hearing is required and no public hearing was held.
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of the California Streets and Highways
Code, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita, California, does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is hereby found and determined that a portion of the public right-of-
way along Sand Canyon Road, as described in Exhibits "A" Legal Description, and as shown on
Exhibit `B" Exhibit Map, and an easement for slope purposes, as described in Exhibits "C"
Legal Description, and as shown on Exhibit "D" Exhibit Map, attached hereto and incorporated
herein by this reference, which real property located in the City of Santa Clarita, County of Los
Angeles, State of California, fully meets the requirements of Section 8331 of the Streets and
Highways Code, which states "The legislative body of a local agency may summarily vacate a
street or highway if both of the following conditions exist: (a) For a period of five consecutive
years, the street or highway has been impassable for vehicular travel. (b) No public money was
expended for maintenance on the street or highway during such period." and such offer of
dedication is therefore vacated, subject to Section 2 herein.
SECTION 2. That within the street to be vacated, there are no public utility facilities that
would be affected by the vacation.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Santa Clarita is instructed to record the
certified original resolution in the office of the Registrar -Recorder of the County of Los Angeles,
at which time the easements summarily vacated will no longer be public service easements.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR STREET VACATION
That portion of land in Parcel Map No. 8244, in the City of Santa Clarita, County of Los
Angeles, State of California, as per map filed in Book 174, Pages 14 and 15, of Parcel Maps, in
the Office of the County Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the southwesterly Right of Way line of Sand Canyon Road, 100.00 foot
wide, as shown on said Parcel Map No. 8244, distant North 41' 36' 11" West 35.54 feet from the
southeasterly terminus of that certain course shown as North 41° 36' 11" West 566.69 feet on
said Parcel Map No. 8244, said point being also on the northeasterly line of Parcel 3 of said
Parcel Map No. 8244;
thence, northwesterly along said southwesterly Right of Way line, North 41' 36' 11" West
531.15 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve, concave to the northeast, having a radius of
2050.00 feet;
thence, northwesterly along last said curve and Right of Way line, through a central angle of 02'
51' 45", an arc length of 102.42 feet;
thence, leaving said curve and Right of Way, North 51 ° 15' 34" East 47.57 feet to a point on a
line lying 64.00 feet southwesterly of, and parallel with, measured at right angles to the
centerline of Sand Canyon Road, 40.00 feet wide, as described in document recorded March 21,
1924 in Book 3127, Page 63 of Official Records in the Office of the County Recorder of said
County;
thence, along said parallel line, South 41' 22' 09" East 83.14 feet, to the beginning of a tangent
curve, concave to the northeast, having a radius of 564.00 feet said point being on a curve lying
64.00 feet southwesterly of, and concentric with, said centerline of Sand Canyon road as
described in last said document as having a radius of 500.00 feet;
thence, along said concentric curve and southeasterly along last said curve, through a central
angle of 12' 44' 00", an arc length of 125.34 feet, to the beginning of a tangent line, said point
being on a line lying 64.00 feet southwesterly of, and parallel with, measured at right angles to,
said centerline of Sand Canyon Road;
thence, along last said tangent line and last said parallel line, South 54' 06' 09" East 116.82 feet,
to the beginning of a tangent curve, concave to the southwest, having a radius of 186.00 feet said
point being on a curve lying 64.00 feet southwesterly of, and concentric with, said centerline of
Sand Canyon Road as described in last said document as having a radius of 250.00 feet ;

thence, southeasterly along last said curve, through a central angle of 25' 20' 00", an arc length
of 82.24 feet, to a tangent line said point being on a line lying 64.00 feet southwesterly of, and
parallel with, measured at right angles to, said centerline of Sand Canyon Road;
thence, along last said tangent line, South 28' 46' 09" East 63.28 feet, to the beginning of a non -
tangent curve, concave to the southwest, having a radius of 652.00 feet, a radial bearing to said
point bears, North 55' 12' 39" East said point being on a curve lying 84.00 feet southwesterly of,
and concentric with, the northeasterly Right of Way line of Sand Canyon Road as described in
document recorded February 13, 1990 as Instrument No. 90-239877 of said Official Records ;
thence, southeasterly along last said non -tangent curve and along last mentioned concentric
curve, through a central angle of 11 ° 27' 00", an arc length of 130.30 feet, to the beginning of a
tangent line said point being on. a line lying 84.00 feet southwesterly of, and parallel with,
measured at right angles, to the northeasterly Right of Way line of Sand Canyon Road as
described in said Book 3127, Page 63 of Official Records
thence, along last said tangent line and last said parallel line, South 23' 20' 2 1 " East 41.43 feet;
