RESOLUTION NO. 25-11
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF THE ANNUAL CLAIM WITH THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR
STATE TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE FUNDS
WHEREAS, the State Transportation Development Act (TDA), as amended by the Mills-
Alquist-Deddeh Act (Public Utilities Code Section 99200 et seq.), provides for xhe allocation of
State Transit Assistance funds (STA), derived from the statewide sales tax on diesel -fuel; and
WHEREAS, these funds are available for use by eligible claimants far -various; -
transportation purposes; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the TDA, as amended, ald pursuadt to the
applicable rules and regulations thereunder (California Code of Regulatians,-Titfe 21, Sections
6600 et seq.), a prospective claimant wishing to receive an allocation from the STA shall file its
annual claim with its county transportation authority; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita is an eligible claimant and desires to file a claim
for STA with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita, California, does
hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council is hereby authorized and directed to apply and submit the
annual claim for STA funds.
SECTION 2. The City Manager or designee is hereby authorized to execute and file an
appropriate claim with Metro pursuant to the terms of the STA, as amended, and pursuant to the
applicable rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, together with all necessary supporting
documents, for annual allocation of STA funds.
SECTION 3. A copy of this resolution shall be transmitted to Metro in conjunction with
the filing of the annual claim; and that Metro be requested to grant the allocation of funds to the
City of Santa Clarita.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
