SUBJECT: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY EASEMENT ON
CITY -OWNED PROPERTY ADJACENT TO BOUQUET CANYON
ROAD

RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council:
1. Approve an easement on Assessor Parcel Number 2812-008-900 with Southern California
Edison Company for the purpose of relocating transmission lines.
2. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute the necessary documents, subject to City
Attorney approval.
BACKGROUND
On January 15, 2025, the City of Santa Clarita (City) acquired Assessor Parcel Number (APN)
2812-008-900, consisting of approximately 10 acres, from the County of Los Angeles (County).
The property is located within the City's boundary, adjacent to Camp Joseph Scott.
On November 10, 2020, the City Council approved the Bouquet Canyon Project (Master Case
18-089) (Project). The Project includes the realignment of Bouquet Canyon Road and the
development of housing units, dedicated open space areas, trails, trail heads, and landscape
elements in the Saugus community.
The Southern California Edison Company (SCE) identified a need to relocate and upgrade the
power line infrastructure related to the Project. As part of this effort, power lines must be placed
on the recently acquired City parcel adjacent to Bouquet Canyon Road. An easement is therefore
necessary to grant SCE the necessary rights to access, maintain, and relocate the power line
infrastructure.
