SUBJECT: SPECIALIZED ELEVATOR CONTRACT RATIFICATION

RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council ratify payments in the amount of $22,646 to Specialized Elevator for emergency
repair services to city-wide elevators.
BACKGROUND
On November 4, 2023, the City entered into a two-year maintenance contract with Specialized
Elevator for an amount not to exceed $47,436 over the contract term. Specialized Elevator was
selected through a competitive procurement process in accordance with the City's purchasing
policies. The scope of services includes routine maintenance, safety checks, and emergency
response as needed to ensure the City's seven elevators city-wide remain operational and in
compliance with applicable safety standards.
Since the start of the contract, the City has experienced an unusually high number of emergency
service calls, twenty-two in total, which has resulted in contract expenditures exceeding the
original contract authority by $22,646. The recommended action will allow for ratification of this
amount to cover the unanticipated emergency services provided.

FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient budget is available to cover the contract overages with Next Level Elevator in Fiscal
Year 2025-26.
