RESOLUTION NO. 87-11
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, APPOINTING CERTAIN
COUNTY OFFICIALS TO SERVE AS ACTING CITY
OFFICIALS.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita was incorporated
on December 15, 1987, as a general law city of the State of
California;
WHEREAS, it is necessary that acting officers be
appointed immediately in order that the affairs of the City
may be properly administered; and
WHEREAS, in order for County Officers to perform
services for the City of Santa Clarita, it is necessary to
designate certain County Officers as City Offices.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Santa Clarita as follows:
SECTION 1. The District Attorney of the County
of Los Angeles is hereby appointed Acting City Prosecutor of
the City of Santa Clarita.
SECTION 2. The Director of Public Works of the
County of Los Angeles is hereby appointed Acting City
Engineer of the City of Santa Clarita. The Director of
Public Works is hereby authorized to designate his Chief
Deputy to approve on his behalf any official City business
under his jurisdiction when it is necessary for him to be
absent from his place of work due to illness, official
business, or vacation. To expedite the approval of certain
matters, the Director of Public Works may delegate certain
of his deputies to approve on his behalf City sanitary sewer
and storm drain plans, tentative subdivision requirements,
final tract and parcel maps and related documents, letters
of transmittal, and reports on activities.
,*+, SECTION 3. The Road Commissioner of the County
of Los Angeles, or his designated qualified representative,
is hereby appointed Acting Superintendent of Streets of the
City of Santa Clarita.
SECTION 4. The County Director of Building and
Safety, or his designated qualified representative is hereby

appointed Acting Director of Building and Safety for the
City of Santa Clarita.
!^ SECTION 5. The County Planning Director, or his
designated and qualified representative is hereby appointed
Acting Planning Director of the City of Santa Clarita.
SECTION 6. The Sheriff of the County of Los
Angeles is hereby appointed Acting Chief of Police of the
City of Santa Clarita and all Deputies of the Sheriff of the
County of Los Angeles are hereby appointed police officers
of the City of Santa Clarita.
SECTION 7. The Fire Chief of the Los Angeles
County Consolidated Fire Protection District is hereby
appointed as the Acting City Fire Chief for the City of
Santa Clarita.
SECTION 8. "Each of the Officers above appointed
shall serve at the pleasure of the City Council of the City
of Santa Clarita.
SECTION 9. The City Clerk is hereby directed to
forward certified copies of this Resolution to the Clerk of
the Board of Supervisors.
