HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-04-14 - RESOLUTIONS - INTERSECTION SYSTEM (2)PBM/RES4866 RESOLUTION NO. 88-24 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, CONSENTING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF VARIOUS INTERSECTIONS LISTED BELOW WITHIN THE CITY AS A PART OF THE SYSTEM OF HIGHWAYS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors did on March 8, 1988, duly adopt a Resolution declaring the intersections listed below, within the City of Santa Clarita, to be a part of the System of Highways of the County of Los Angeles, as provided in Sections 1700 to 1704 inclusive of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors by said Resolution requested this Council to give its consent to allow the County to install traffic signals and highway safety lighting and perform appurtenant work at the intersections in the City of Santa Clarita described below; and WHEREAS, pursuant to section 15301, Class 1 (c), of the State Guidelines for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act, the Secretary of Resources designated this type of project as categorically exempt. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita does hereby resolve as follows: SECT ive in Countv Hi System. The City Council of the City of Santa Clarita does hereby consent to the establishment of the intersections listed below, within the City of Santa Clarita, as a part of the System of Highways of the County of Los Angeles, as provided in Sections 1700 and 1704 inclusive of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. The consent granted by this Resolution is for the purpose of installing traffic signals and highway safety lighting and performing appurtenant work as may be necessary by the County of Los Angeles at the following intersections: (a) Seco Canyon Road at Pamplico Drive (b) Seco Canyon Road at Garzota Drive rBM/RES4866 w. Road (c) Soledad Canyon Road at River Circle/Galeton SECTION 2. Finding of Cate orical Exem tion. The City Council of the City of Santa Clarita does hereby find that the projects described in Section 1 of this Resolution are categorically exempt from the requirement for an Environmental Impact Report pursuant to section 15301, Class 1 (c), of the State Guidelines for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970. SECTION 3. Findings Reg_ardin Government Code Section 65402. The City Council does hereby declare that pursuant to Government Code section 65302.5 the City has not yet adopted a General Plan and the City Council does hereby find that pursuant to Government Code section 65402 (b), the aforesaid improvements are for street improvements of a minor nature and that, therefore, the provisions of section 65402 requiring the submission to and report upon the projects by the City Planning Agency do not apply. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 14th day of April 1988.
