A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, RECOGNIZING THE
NEWHALL SIGNAL AND SAUGUS ENTERPRISE AS A
NEWSPAPER OF GENERAL CIRCULATION WITHIN THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA
WHEREAS, the Newhall Signal and Saugus Enterprise
("Newhall Signal") is published for the dissemination of
local news and intelligence of a general character in the
City of Santa Clarita ("the City"), County of Los Angeles,
California;
WHEREAS, the Newhall Signal has a subscription list
of paying subscribers, numbering approximately 13,850 in the
City and surrounding area;
WHEREAS, for more than one year the Newhall Signal
has been established under the name "Newhall Signal and
Saugus Enterprise", and has been printed and published at
regular intervals within the limits of the City of Santa
Clarita;
WHEREAS during the preceding one year period, the
mechanical work of producing the Newhall Signal, that is,
the work of typesetting and pressing type on.pape.r, has been
performed within the limits of the City of Santa Clarita;
the Newhall Signal has been issued from the same City where
it is printed and sold; it has been both printed and
published in the City; it has been published as a regular
newspaper three days a week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday;
and it has an average circulation for each issue of
approximately 39,100;
WHEREAS, based upon the preceding recitals and
evidence, both oral and documentary, the Superior Court of
California, County of Los Angeles, North Valley District
Office (San Fernando) has adjudicated the Newhall Signal and
Saugus Enterprise as a newspaper of general circulation, as
defined in Section 6000, et, seg. of the Government Code,
for the City of Santa Clarita and the State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Newhall Signal and Saugus
Enterprise is hereby recognized by the City Council of the
City of Santa Clarita as a newspaper of general circulation,
as defined in Section 6000, et. seg. of the Government Code.
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed
to utilize the Newhall Signal and Saugus Enterprise as a
newspaper of general circulation for the City of Santa
Clarita as provided in the Government Code of the State of
r California and other applicable law.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and cause the same to be
published in the manner prescribed by law.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day
of June 1988.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Santa
Clarita at a regular meeting thereof, held on the23rd day
of June , 1988, by the following vote of the Council:
