HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-09-08 - RESOLUTIONS - SANTA SUSANNA WOODLANDS PARK (2)RESOLUTION NO. 88-126 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA SUPPORTING A STUDY OF THE PROPOSED SANTA SUSANNA WOODLANDS STATE PARK WHEREAS, the State of California, through Proposition 70 passed in June, 1988, has money available for acquisition of Parkland; and WHEREAS, a local State Senator and Assemblywoman are interested in pursuing a local State Park in Southern California; and WHEREAS, a proposed site in the Santa Susanna Mountains above the Santa Clarita Valley has been determined; and WHEREAS, the proposed name of said park will be Santa Susanna Woodlands State Park; and WHEREAS, this park will be adjacent to the City of Santa Clarita; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council that it does support a study of the proposed park by the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation, local groups, and interested individuals beginning this fall to define the specifics of what area should be considered for the future park, what facilities this park should contain, and the feasibility of said proposed park.
