HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-02-25 - RESOLUTIONS - VIA DONA CHRISTA INTENTION (2)RESOLUTION NO. 88-6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA IN THE MATTER OF VIA DONA CHRISTA ET AL INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS AND DIRECTING PREPARATION OF RESOLUTION OF INTENTION WHEREAS, a petition for the construction of cul-de-sacs and appurtenant work in Via Dona Christa, signed by persons representing ownership of over 75 percent of the area of lands proposed to be assessed for the improvement was submitted to the County of Los Angeles; and WHEREAS, assessment proceedings pursuant to the Municipal Improvement Act of 1913 under County Improvement No. 2646-M were instituted by the County of Los Angeles on June 16 1987; and WHEREAS, the proposed County Improvement No. 2646-M is located wholly within the newly incorporated City of Santa Clarita and the County of Los Angeles no longer has jurisdiction in this matter; and WHEREAS, the intent of the City Council is to institute proceedings and direct preparation of a resolution of intention for this project. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA RESOLVES AND DETERMINES THAT: 1. The public interest and convenience require the construction of cul-de-sacs and appurtenant work in Via Dona Christa and other rights of way, within the assessment district proposed therfor, substantially as indicated on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A". 2. The district of lands to be specially assessed to pay the cost of said improvement shall include, in general, the area of the City of Santa Clarita within the boundary of the proposed district as shown on said map. -2- 3. Proceedings for the improvement be conducted under and in accordance with provisions of the Municipal Improvement Act of 1913, as amended, and other acts incorporated therein, referred to therein, or supplemental thereto. 4. This project shall be known as Santa Clarita Assessment District No. one, Via Dona Christa. 5. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works is hereby requested to provide all necessary resolutions, reports, plans, specifications, estimates, maps, notifications, proposal forms, contract forms, bond forms and any other acts, services or forms necessary to assist the City of Santa Clarita in completing this project. 6. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works is directed to prepare a resolution of intention for the proposed project.
