A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA,
SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
PROTESTS AND A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING
SANTA CLARITA ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 1,
VIA DONA CHRISTA FOR THE CUL-DE-SAC
STREET CLOSURES CONSISTING OF CURBS,
GUTTERS, SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS, BLOCK
WALLS, DRAINS, AND PAVEMENT
WHEREAS, proceedings have been instituted for this
improvement under the provisions of Division 12, Streets and
Highways Code (Municipal Improvement Act of 1913); and
WHEREAS, the Resolution of Intention for this
improvement was duly adopted by the City Council of the City
of Santa Clarita, State of California, on the 27th day of
October , 1988; and
WHEREAS, the City Council intends to comply with
the requirements of the Special Assessments Investigation,
Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931 by proceeding
under Part 7.5 of Division of the Streets and Highways Code;
and
WHEREAS, the Report called for in the Resolution of
Intention has been duly prepared and filed with the City
Clerk of the City of Santa Clarita; and
WHEREAS, the Report has been presented to and duly
considered by this City Council on the 27thday of
october , 1988.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the 8th day of December, 1988, at
the hour of 7:30 p.m., is the day and the hour, and Arroyo
Seco Junior High School, 27171 Vista Del Gado, Santa
Clarita, California, is the place, fixed by the City Council
for hearing protests in relation to the proposed
improvement.
That at the time and place herein fixed for hearing
protests to the proposed improvement a public hearing will
also be held, to hear objections to the proposed making of a
finding and determination by the City Council that the
public convenience and necessity require such improvement.
After the public hearing, the City Council proposes to find

that the total amount of the principal sum of all unpaid
special assessments levied against the parcels proposed to
be assessed plus the principal amount of the special
assessment proposed to be levied under Santa Clarita
Assessment District No. 1 do not exceed one-half of the
total value of the parcels proposed to be assessed prior to
confirming the assessment pursuant to Section 10311 of the
Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk of the City of Santa
Clarita is hereby directed to give notice of the protest
hearing and public hearing by causing to be conspicuously
posted on all open streets within the district, at not more
than 300 feet apart on each street so posted, but not less
than three in all, notices of the passage of the Resolution
of Intention and of this Resolution, all in accordance with
the provisions of Division 12 of the Streets and Highways
Code.
That the City Clerk is hereby directed to give
notice of the hearings and of the passage of the Resolution
of Intention and of this Resolution by causing such notice
to be published by two successive insertions in the Newhall
Signal, a newspaper published and circulated in the City of
Santa Clarita or in the County of Los Angeles, which is
hereby designated by the City for that purpose, all in
accordance with the provisions of Division 12 of the Streets
and Highways Code.
That the City Clerk is hereby directed to mail
notices of the hearings and the adoption of the Resolution
of Intention and of the filing of the Report to all persons
owning real property proposed to be assessed, whose names
and addresses appear on the last equalized assessment roll
for County taxes prior thereto or as known to the City
Clerk, all in accordance with the provisions of Division 12
of the Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of
October , 19 88.
