HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-01-24 - ORDINANCES - AMEND MUNICODE PR CMSN (2)ORDINANCE NO. 89-1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE AT SECTION 2.28.020 OF CHAPTER 2.28 OF TITLE 2 RELATING TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The Municipal Code for the City of Santa Clarita is hereby amended at Section 2.28.020 of Chapter 2.28 of Title 2 to read as follows: 2.28.020. Members. The Parks and Recreation Commission shall consist of five (5) members, each ,of whom shall be a resident of the City of Santa Clarita and shall be appointed by, and serve at the pleasure of, the City Council. Subject to the provisions of this Section, two (2) appointments to the Commission shall be made for a term of four (4) years and three (3) appointments to the Commission shall be made for a term of two (2) years, length of initial terms to be determined by lot. Following the initial appointments, all terms of office shall run for a period of four (4) years. The term of office for each Commissioner shall continue to and include the last day of the third month following the City Council reorganization after the general municipal election and thereafter until a successor for the Commissioner whose term is expiring has been appointed. Should any vacancy exist on the commission, an appointment shall be made for the unexpired portion of the term pursuant to the terms of this Chapter. SECTION 2: This City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause it to be published in the manner prescribed by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this 24TH day of January 1989.
