AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA,
CORRECTING THE CITY APPROPRIATIONS LIMIT
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita ("City") incorporated on December
15, 1987; and
WHEREAS, during the formation process, the Los Angeles County Local
Agency Formation Commission ("LAFCO") set an appropriations limit, pursuant to
Article XIIIB of the California Constitution, of $20,000,000 for the City; and
WHEREAS, City staff has attempted to gain from LAFCO the documents
upon which the appropriations limit of $20,000,000 was based, but LAFCO has
been unable to provide those documents to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City retained a consultant to determine the accurate
appropriations limit applicable to the City and the consultant has determined
that the accurate appropriations limit is $42,478,812; and
WHEREAS, the consultant's report upon which the correct limit is
based was received and filed by the City Council (the "report") at the regular
meeting of March 28, 1989; and
WHEREAS, a duly noticed hearing was conducted on May 9, 1989 at
which time proponents and opponents of the appropriations correction were
allowed to present testimony on the proposed correction of the appropriations
limit; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to correct the LAFCO
appropriations limit based upon the report.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita does
hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That the correct appropriations limit for the City is
hereby determined to be $42,478,812.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this ordinance and cause it to be published in the manner as prescribed by law.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 89-11 was
regularly introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of
the City Council on the 25th day of April , 1989 That
thereafter, said Ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of
the City Council on the 23rd day of May 19 89 by
the following vote, to wit:
