DEPARTMENT: City Managg L BACKGROUND The Board of Supervisors of the County No. 90-13, which adds Section 13.12.055 upon the.sale of aerosol paint containers of Los Angeles has adopted Ordinance to the County Code, imposing regulations of six ounces or less. The City- of Santa Clarita's adopted Municipal Code has other regulations regarding the sale of aerosol paint containers. The intent of Ordinance No. 90-13, Section 13.12.055, adopted by the Board of Supervisors, is a preventive measure against graffiti. Those persons under the age of eighteen (18) years in our City can still obtain aerosol paint containers by theft. This new section will impose storage requirements on the sale of aerosal paint containers and thereby reduce the likelihood of theft. Imposing this additional language .to the City ordinance would make it a stronger preventive measure and show foresight in helping the City to help the deterrence of an increase in graffiti. Introduce Ordinance No. 90-14, waive further reading and pass to second reading.
