BACKGROUND
At their August 28, 1990 meeting the City Council passed to second reading
Ordinance 90-25. This proposed Ordinance amends the Municipal Code at 3.12.270
relating to.the exceptions to competitive bidding requirements.
Ordinance 90-25 will allow the City to directly negotiate a price for the
purchase of supplies, equipment or service, if the City Council finds that it is
in the public interest and necessity to do so.
Adopt the attached Ordinance No. 90-25.

ORDINANCE 90-25
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE AT 3.12.270,
RELATING TO EXCEPTIONS TO COMPETITIVE
BIDDING REQUIREMENTS
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Subsection (7) be added to 3.12.270 of the Santa
Clarita Municipal Code. Subsection (7) shall read as follows:
(7) In the event the City Council finds that it is in the public
interest and necessity to purchase supplies, equipment or services without
compliance with the formal contract procedures set forth in this section, the
City Council may waive such procedures by declaring so in a motion or resolution.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
