SUBJECT: ELSMERE FORUM

BACKGROUND:
At the recent public forum on Elsmere Canyon, Mr. Rob Zapple made a presentation
based upon his experience with Lopez Canyon landfill. During Mr. Zapple's
comments, he provided several bits of. information which could be helpful with
the City's efforts with regard to Elsmere Canyon. He mentioned items such as
capturing methane gas, buffer zones, landscaping, etc.
As the City deals with this issue, it is critical that we have all the necessary
facts at our disposal.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that staff be directed to meet with Mr. Zapple and learn as
much as possible from his experience and report back to the City Council as to
staff's findings.
