rS ON SOLEDAD CANYON ROAD FROM GOLDEN OAK ROAD
(PROJECT 89-17) — AWARD OF BID
On September 11, 1990, Council authorized that this project be advertised for
bids. The project consists of permanent modification to the median on Soledad
Canyon Road at Golden Oak Road, for the purpose of providing additional
left—turn storage capacity for westbound traffic.
On October 4, 1990, bids were received by the City of Santa Clarita. These
bids, and the engineer's estimate, were as follows:

Los Angeles Engineering, Inc. $47,430.00

Padilla Paving Co., Inc. $57,125.00
Staff recommends that this project be awarded to the low bidder, R.P.S. Co.
R.P.S. Co. possesses the necessary State Contractor's license, and is a -member
of good standing. The current budget provides $73,300 for design, contract
administration, inspection, and construction of this project.
RECOMMENDATION
1. Award the contract to the low bidder, R.P.S. Co.,. in the amount of
$39,677.00.
2. Authorize the Mayor to execute a contract with R.P.S. Co., in the amount of
$39,677.00, after the required bonds and insurance forms have been submitted
by the Contractor.
