Medina At the City Council meeting of June 12, 1990, the Council directed staff to meet with G.H. Palmer & Associates to address certain issues relative to the Santa Catarina Project. These issues were: 1. Preserve the riparian habitat currently existing on the property. 2. Investigate a land exchange with the owner of the McCoy property to allow the construction of Golden Valley Road with as little effect as possible on the current usage of the property. 3. Investigate alternatives for Golden Valley Road which would not pass through the McCoy property. 4. Present a project that would consist of between 800 to 1292 residential units with a mixture of single family and multi -family units. At the City Council meeting of June 26, 1990 the City Manager reported that meetings have been held with G.H. Palmer & Associates to discuss these items as well as the Attorney General's concern regarding environmental documentation for the project. At that meeting, the Council discussed limiting the unit count to 1000 rather than the 1292 previously indicated. The Council directed that this item be placed on this agenda for its.consideration. We have informed G.H. Palmer that this item would be addressed. Staff has placed this on the agenda at your direction and based on your input will continue negotiations to find acceptable alternatives to development of the project. The City Council consider limiting the number of units to 1000 on the Santa Catarina Project and provide direction to staff. Agenda Item:-
