SUBJECT: TRANSFER OF STORM DRAIN TO LOS ANGELES COUNTY
FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT (L.A.C.F.C.D.)
TRACT NUMBER 43572
PRIVATE DRAIN NUMBER 1991
Resolution N ber: 90-79
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
BACKGROUND
The construction of Private Drain No. 1991 has been inspected and approved by
the County Director of Public Works, who has sent a Notice of Completion to the
City. The storm drain was constructed by the developer in accordance with
agreements and the Faithful Performance Bonds on file with the City Clerk (see
Exhibit "B" attached showing the location and extent of improvements). The
agreements also provide that the work shall not be deemed completed until
approved, accepted as complete, and transferred to L.A.C.F.C.D. for maintenance.
The City and County entered into an agreement on March 14, 1989 recorded as
Document Number 89-1346418 which provides for the transfer of the storm drain.
The City Council must approve a resolution authorizing the transfer to complete
the process. The transfer is then accepted and approved by the Board of
Supervisors for the L.A.C.F.C.D., who operates and maintains the storm drain for
public use.
RECOMMENDATION
1. Adopt the attached resolution for the transfer and conveyance of the storm
drain improvements to the L.A.C.F.C.D. for purposes of operation,
maintenance, repair, and improvements.
2. Direct the City Clerk to transmit a copy of this report indicating the date
and action taken, and three original copies of the adopted resolution to the
County of Los Angeles.
