Medina CLE 8 ALLOCATIONS At its regular meeting on June 27, 1990, the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission (LACTC) approved FY 1990-91 TDA Article 8 allocations. Pursuant to that action, the LACTC has invited the City to submit a request for these Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 8 funds. Council Resolution is required as part of this application process. TDA Article 8 funds may be used for streets androads purposes provided that the City's unmet transportation needs have been satisfied. The LACTC and City has determined through Article 89- hearings that these needs have been met for 1990-91. The LACTC has determined that the City's TDA allocation for FY 90-91 is 32.04% of the eligible funds or $2,848,674. RECOMMENDATION The City. Council adopt Resolution No. 90-210 and direct staff to submit the necessary forms for the City's allocated funds. ATTACHMENT Resolution No. 90-210 /hds 1 RESOLUTION NO. 90-210' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR LOCAL STREETS AND ROADS FUNDS AUTHORIZED UNDER ARTICLE 8 OF THE TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT WHEREAS, Article 8 of the Transportation Development Act provides that cities can use eligible funds of the County's Local Transportation Fund for local streets and road expenditures when the City's unmet transportation needs have been satisfied; and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita has met its unmet public transportation needs through an agreement with the County of Los Angeles to provide public transportation in the City of Santa Clarita; and, WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita desires to use the remaining portion of its allocation of Transportation Development Act funds for minor street and road improvements. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. To authorize the Finance Director as the City's authorized signature and designated contact person. Section 2. To apply for all funds available to the City of Santa Clarita allocated for local street and road improvements. ATTEST: PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 11th day of December, 1990.
