A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
r� OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA,
AGREEING TO MAINTAIN THE SOUTH FORK TRAIL BIKEWAY
WHEREAS, SB 821 provides that two percent of each county's total local
Transportation Fund be annually set aside and used to fund the development of
bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita has requested allocation of SB 821
funds for construction of the South Fork Trail Bikevay along the South Fork of
the Santa Clara River between Lyons Avenue and Magic Mountain Parkway (project
limits); and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission will not
approve the City's request unless the City agrees to maintain the above-named
bikeway facility; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to agree to maintain the above-named facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of
Santa Clarita does resolve as follows, contingent upon approval of the City's
allocation request:
1. To maintain, or cause to be maintained in safe condition, all
facilities whose construction is wholly or partially funded by the
requested allocation mentioned above;
2. To provide regular sweeping of the above-named bikeway facility;
3. To repair and replace all damaged or illegible signs associated
with the above-named bikeway facility.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of November 1990 .

City Council of the City of Santa Clarita at a regular meeting thereof, held
on the 13thday of November , 1990, by the following vote of the Council.
