A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA,
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT
OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO ACCEPT ON
BEHALF OF SAID DISTRICT A TRANSFER AND
CONVEYANCE OF STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENTS
KNOWN AS PRIVATE DRAIN NO. 1786 IN THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA FOR FUTURE
OPERATION, MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND
IMPROVEMENT, AND AUTHORIZE THE TRANSFER
AND CONVEYANCE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, there have been dedicated to, or the City has otherwise
acquired, the storm drain improvements and drainage system (mown as Private
Drain No. 1786, described in Exhibit A attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the City is authorized and empowered to transfer and convey to
the Los Angeles County Flood Control District any storm drain improvements and
drainage systems for future operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement;
and
WHEREAS, the City and the Los Angeles County Flood Control District
entered into an agreement dated March 14, 1989, and recorded August 22, 1989,
as Document Number 89-1346418, of the Official Records in the office of the
County Recorder for the County of Los Angeles, whereby the City made certain
warranties about its future transfers and conveyances of Flood Control
facilities to the District; and
WHEREAS, the best public interest will be served by transfer and
conveyance of the storm drain improvements and drainage system described in
Exhibit A attached hereto from the City to the Los Angeles County Flood
Control District for future operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City does hereby request the Los
Angeles County Flood Control District to accept the transfer and conveyance of
the storm drain improvements and drainage system described in said Exhibit A.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, subject to the acceptance thereof of the
Board of Supervisors of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, the
City Engineer is directed and ordered to prepare all necessary instruments and
,.-. documents, including deed, to effectuate said transfer and conveyance, and
that the Mayor is authorized and instructed to execute said deed and other
instruments and documents. District shall have no obligation or
responsibility to maintain said storm drain, improvements, and drainage until
all rights-of-way for said drain now vested in the City and all other
necessary rights-of-way therefore have been conveyed to and accepted by
District.
Reference is hereby made to District Drawings Nos. 366-F7.1 through
366-F7.20, the plans and profile of said storm drain improvements and drainage
system on file in the office of the City Engineer and on file in the office of
the Chief Engineer of said District for further data as to the exact location,
extent, and description of said storm drain improvements and drainage system.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the transfer and conveyance hereby requested
are subject to each of the warranties described in the Agreement between the
City and the District dated March 14, 1989, and recorded August 22, 1989, as
Document Number 89-1346418, of the Official Records in the office of the
County Recorder for the County of Los Angeles. Such warranties by the City
are incorporated here by this reference.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.

Private Drain No. 1786
A reinforced concrete pipe and box storm drain system and appurtenant structures
for Tract No. 34251, filed in Book 1019, pages 16 to 23, inclusive, of Maps,
Records of the County of Los Angeles, generally described as follows:
Line "A":
Commencing from a transition structure, Station 31 +36.01, located in a 42
and 47 -foot -wide easement for covered storm drain and appurtenant
structures and ingress and egress purposes, which lies within Lots 6, 7 and
10 of said tract; thence northeasterly in said easements to Tyler Lane;
thence northeasterly in said street to a 42 and 47 -foot -wide easement for
covered storm drain and appurtenant structures and ingress and egress
purposes, which lies within Lots 13, 14 and 15 of said tract; thence
northeasterly in last said mentioned easements to Scherzinger Lane; thence
northeasterly, crossing Scherzinger Lane, to a transition structure,
Station 46 + 68.13, a distance of 1,532 feet, more or less.
Lines "B", "C", "E", "F" and "G"•
24 inch connector pipes from Line "A" to catch basins.
Line "0":
Commencing from Line "A", Station 37 + 49.24 (Station 1 + 15.73, Line "D"),
located southwest of the street intersection of Tyler Lane and American
Beauty Drive; thence northerly and northwesterly, passing through said
intersection, to American Beauty Drive; thence northwesterly in American
Beauty Drive to an inlet structure that is located in Sierra Highway,
Station 7 + 81.27, a distance of 666 feet, more or less.
Lines "H" and "I":
24 inch connector pipes from Line "D" to catch basins.
Line "K":
Commencing from Line "D", Staion 6 + 80.35 (Station 0 + 00, Line "K"),
located southeast of the street intersection of American Beauty Drive and
Sierra Highway; thence northeasterly, passing through said intersection, to
Sierra Highway; thence northeasterly in Sierra Highway to a manhole structure
with a 36 inch stub, Station 7 + 18.06, a distance of 718 feet, more or less.
Lines "J", "L" and "M":
36 inch connector pipes from Line "K" to catch basins.
All as shown on District Drawing Nos. 366-F7.1 through 366-F7.20.
