This is the first potential increase.since both commissions formed. Presently the Planning Commission receives compensation at the rate of $100.00 per meeting attended. Total compensation cannot exceed $200.00 in one month. The Parks and Recreation Commission receives compensation at a rate of $70.00 for each member and total compensation cannot exceed $140.00 per month. At this time there is not a statutory provision which sets forth the amount of increase to be paid to a Commissioner. Therefore, anycompensation provided is at the.City Council's discretion. Suggested options available to the City Council at this time are as follows: In order to provide for increased compensation it is necessary to amend both Ordinance 89-23 and 89-26 which initially set forth compensation for the Planning and Parks and Recreation Commission. The compensation and expenses section of the Ordinances shall be amended to include appropriate dollar amounts adopted_by the City Council.
