On February ll, 1988, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 88-8, establishing
a salary for members of the City Council of $600.00 per month pursuant to
Government Code Section 36516(c). This Code Section also provides for Council
Member salaries to be increased by 5% for each calendar year from the date of
the last salary adjustment. Ordinance No. 91-28 now establishes the 5% salary
increase from the present rate of $661.50 per month to $694.57 per month for the
1991-92 fiscal year.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA
INCREASING COUNCILMEMRER SALARIES
PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 35616(c).
AHEREAS, on February 11, 1988, the City, of Santa Clarita adopted
Ordinance No. 88-8 establishing a salary for members of the City Council
of $600.00 per month, pursuant to the schedule of salaries set forth in
Government Code Section 36516(c); and
MREAS, Government Code Section 36516(c) provides for Council Member
salaries to be increased by 5X for each calendar year from the operative
date of the last salary adjustment; and
VHEREAS, on June 13, 1990, the City adopted Ordinance No. 90-13, which
adjusted the Council Members' salaries pursuant .to Government Code
Section 36516(c) to Six Hundred and Sixty -One Dollars and Fifty Cents
($661.50) per month.
NOV, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita,
California, does hereby ordain as follows;
SECTION 1. The compensation for City Council Members shall be Six
Hundred and Ninety -Four Dollars and Fifty -Seven Cents ($694.57) per
month. Such compensation shall be payable at the same time and in
the same manner as salaries are paid to other officers and employees
of the City of Santa Clarita.
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 90-13 is -hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in the manner
prescribed by law.
