Public Works On January 2, 1992, the City assumed the commuter bus service from the County of Los Angeles. This was the final component implemented by Santa Clarita Transit that also includes Dial -A -Ride services. Santa Clarita Transit provides bus service for the entire Santa Clarita Valley, including areas under the County of Los Angeles jurisdiction. The County is responsible for providing funding for those areas not located within the City. The funding marks are calculated based on miles for local service, actual passengers for Dial -A -Ride and percentage of passengers for commuters. The attached agreement must be signed in order for the City to receive the estimated $410,800 due from the County. The current term of this agreement is from July 1, 1992 to June 30, 1993. To review and approve all contract invoices for all services which it administers; to pay service provider directly for the net contract costs of services ( total contract costs less farebox revenue, where applicable) within thirty (30) days of approval of invoices and to invoice COUNTY for its jurisdictional share of the total costs of services. F. To continue the program of preparing and issuing residency identification cards to CITY and COUNTY residents in the Santa Clarita Valley and to enable area residents to purchase monthly bus passes at discounted rates. G. To a breakdown of the COUNTY'S jurisdictional share of debt service costs for local and commuter buses in the monthly invoices. 2. COUNTY AGREES To review and approve invoices submitted by CITY to COUNTY for local, commuter and elderly and disabled and general public paratransit services and pay CITY within thirty (30) days of approval of invoices the COUNTY'S jurisdictional share of the total cost of services. 3. IT IS MUTUALLY UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED AS FOLLOWS: A. The term of the.Agreement shall be from July 1, 1992 through June 30, 1993. B. CITY and COUNTY will finance their jurisdictional shares of the total costs of SERVICES. C. COUNTY'S maximum obligation under this Agreement is $542,900. D. Agreement may be amended upon mutual written consent of CITY and COUNTY. _ E. This Agreement may be terminated by either party upon thirty (30) days written notice. Any financial liability due CITY from COUNTY shall be paid to CITY no later than thirty (30) days after termination. F. CITY will implement SERVICE REVISIONS as described in Appendix B. G. The total actual costs of the services under this Agreement, as described in the appendixes, include the amount paid to the I. Any revisions to SERVICES proposed by either CITY or COUNTY shall not be implemented without prior concurrence by CITY and COUNTY. K. CITY shall be excused from performance hereunder during the time and to the extent that it is prevented from performing in the customary manner by forces of nature, fire, strike, loss of funding or commandeering of materials, products, plants, or facilities by the Government, when satisfactory evidence thereof is presented to COUNTY. L. The Assumption of Liability Agreement executed by the parties to this Agreement, and approved by the Board of Supervisors and currently in effect, is hereby made a part of and incorporated into this Agreement as if set out in full herein, unless said Assumption of Liability Agreement is expressly superseded by subsequent Agreement hereafter entered into between the parties hereto.
