Bonds will soon be sold so that land purchases can begin. In two weeks they will need the list of specific purchases drawn up to back up the bond measure resulting from Proposition A. Whitney Canyon can be on that list of specific purchases. Watt Industries has made an offer thatwiffput Whitney Canyon onthe list if Michael Antonovid's office comdbutes 5 million dollars, Santa Monica Mountains Conservancycontributes5million dollars and the Cityof Santa amita contributes5. milliondollars. Both Michael Antonovich's office and Joe Edmiston of the Santa Monica Conservancy have indicated a willingness to use money coming from Proposition A funds to support the purchase of Whitney, Canyon. Five million each is the amount which has been discussed. I have requested Watt Industries to send details regarding the land designated forpurchase and they will comply. Consequently. I would like you to add the following agenda item to the list for the November 24th city council meeting: The City of Santa Claritawill allocate 5million doff ars to the purchase of Whitney Canyon for the purpose of it becoming parkland. Thank you for your attention to this request. Ia
