HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-07-14 - AGENDA REPORTS - GRANT BOUQUET CYN TRAIL (2)AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval Item to be presented �-- 4 CONSENT CALENDAR ' a P 1 kam DATE: July 14, 1992 SUBJECT: Grant Application for Construction of Bouquet Canyon Trail DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation Department Background: Grant request proposals are being accepted by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) for consideration through the AB 2766 program entitled "Fighting Smog with Motor Vehicle Registration Funds." The Parks and Recreation Department proposes to submit a grant request for the following: 1. -Provide design and construction funding for the Bouquet Canyon Trail between Rob Avenue and Alamogordo Road, within the City Limits of the City of Santa Clarita. All projects are to be submitted for competitive funding by July 27, 1992. All projects must be completed within one year from date of funding. The•Parks and Recreation Department supports this application for grant funds and has identified the Bouquet Canyon Trail as a primary route in the City's trail system. Fiscal Impact: None. Only minimal staff time will be required to prepare the grant application. Recommendation: It is recommended that City Council approve the application for this project, and that authority be given the Director of Parks and Recreation Department to actively pursue grant funding through the AQMD Discretionary Fund Program for the Bouquet Canyon Trail.
