SUBJECT: Procurement of Dump Trucks
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
The Streets Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department requested and received
approval from City Council for the procurement of four (4) dump trucks for FY 91/92 at a
budgeted cost of $160,000.00. Upon receipt of specifications from the requesting division, a
request for sealed bids was advertised with the following bids received on March 5, 1992:

Valew Welding
Paramount

Inland Empire
Riverside
163,747.61
Fuller Ford
Chula Vista
165,782.71
Equipment Center
Lancaster
NO BID
Staff has reviewed the responses and recommends award of GS -91-92-13 to Valew Welding as
the lowest, most -qualified bidder. This item is not available locally and Valew Welding has
provided equipment to the City prior to this award.
