ANNUAL ASSESSMENT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1992-93
Resolution Number:- 92-115
DEPARTMENT: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BACKGROUND
The County of Los Angeles had previously established Drainage Benefit Assessment
Area No. 3 to provide maintenance of a subsurface drainage system constructed to
ensure stability of the slopes constructed for Tract No. 36496 (see attached
report). The proposition was submitted to the eligible voters in this area, and
a majority of voters approved the formation of the District and the levying of
the assessment. Since that time, this former County. area now falls within the
jurisdiction of the City of Santa Clarita. Each year, thereafter, the City
Council may determine and impose an annual assessment.
Drainage Benefit Assessment Area No. 3 was originally formed on January 28,
1986. The estimated assessment last year was $73.25 per dwelling unit. The
estimated assessment for Fiscal Year 1992-93 is $73.25 per dwelling unit.' So
that the property owners are aware of this assessment, we have met with the
Homeowners Association to explain it to them.
