BACKGROUND
The S.E.C.U.R.E.. Program (Santa Clarita Educated Communities, United in Response
to Emergencies) was formally introduced to the community on January 15 at City
Hall. The Program's success is based on the quality and quantity of its
volunteers. Four advisors have assisted in the program development and the
training of 23 S.E.C.U.R.E. trainers. Further trainings are being offered in
January and February, with 30 residents currently enrolled.- The City provides
the training materials and identifying uniform, which consists of a polo shirt
and a name badge.

how to recognize -and reduce hazards within their homes. They will also assist
in the development of family disaster plans, neighborhood skills and resource
check lists.
