SUBJECT: SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT IN FRIENDLY VALLEY/SKY BLUE MESA AREAS
(PROJECT 90-10) - PROJECT ACCEPTANCE
DEPARTMENT: Community Development
BACKGROUND
On May 28, 1991, Council awarded a contract for the subject project to Berry
General Engineering Contractors Inc. This project was completed to the
satisfaction of the Director of Community Development on December 2, 1991 for a
total construction cost of $48,765.34. This project was completed on schedule
and within the budget for annual maintenance projects.
RECOMMENDATION
1. Accept the work performed by Berry General Engineering Contractors, Inc.
2. Direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of Completion for the
project.
3. Direct Staff to release the 30 percent retention 35daysafter the Notice of
Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices as,provided by law have
been filed.

NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT AND WORK
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that - the City of Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County,
California, has caused a public improvement, to wit:
PROJECT NO. 90-10
SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT IN THE FRIENDLY VALLEY/SKY BLUE MESA AREAS
to be constructed upon the property hereinafter described. The contract .for
furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and all
utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water; and performing
all work necessary to construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner
in strict accordance with the specifications, plans, and drawings therefore on
file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Santa Clarita, for the
construction, installation, and completion of the above described public
improvement and work, was heretofore made and entered into with Berry General
Engineering Contractors, Inc. on..the 19th day of June, 1991, and filed for
record in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Santa Clarita; that the
work upon said public improvement was actually completed on the 26th day of
October, 1991 and that the Director of Community Development has notified the
City Council that she has made and completed a final inspection of the materials
furnished -and installed and the work performed in the construction, installation
and completion- of said public improvement hereinabove more particularly
described and set forth, and has certified in writing to the City Council that
all of the provisions of the contract and contract documents for the furnishing
of*all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and the performing of
all work necessary -for the. construction, installation and completion of said
public improvement above described have been fully complied with to her
satisfaction as required by the contract documents; that final, acceptance of the
construction, installation and completion of said public improvement above
described was made on the 2nd day of December, 1991 that the nature of the title
to said property of said City of Santa Clarita.is as follows -- that is to say,
it owns said public improvement in fee except for the right-of-way upon which it
is constructed, and that it owns an easement upon, over and along said
right-of-way for the purpose of the construction, installation, and completion
of said public improvement hereinabove described and the use thereof after said
completion; that.the property hereinabove referred to and on which said public
improvement is situated is described as follows:
