Nisich SUBJECT: • COMMUTER RAIL STATION - PROJECT NO. 91.17 - PHASE II PROJECT ACCEPTANCE DEPARTMENT: Community Development BACKGROUND On July 14, 1992, Council awarded a contract for the subject project to C.A. Rasmussen, Inc. This project was completed to the satisfaction of the Director of Community Development on February 17, 1993, for a total, project cost of approximately $4,500,000, pending a final cost assessment from the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission for their portion of work on this project. This is substantially below the project budget of $4,879,900, and staff recommends that a budget transfer be authorized to release these savings for use on other transit functions. 1.' That Council accept the work performed by C.A. Rasmussen, Inc. 2. That Council direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of Completion for the project. 3. That staff be directed to inform the escrow agent to release the 10 percent retention 35 days after the Notice of Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices as provided by law have been filed. 4. Authorize a budget transfer of $379,900 to Public Works for use by Public Works transit. ATTACHMENT Notice of Completion of Public Improvement and Work hds/91.17.jjs ,Agenda Item: When recorded please return to: Donna Grindey, City Clerk City of Santa Clarita 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 301 Santa Clarfta, California 91355 i NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT AND WORK NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Santa Clartta, Los Angeles County, California, has caused a public Improvement, to wit: PROJECT NO. 91-17 - PHASE 11 COMMUTER RAIL STATION - SITE IMPROVEMENTS to be constructed upon the property hereinafter described. -The contract for furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment and all utilities and transportation, Including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete, In a good and. workmanlike manner in strict accordance with the specifications, plans, and drawings therefore on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Santa Clarita, for the construction, Installation, and completion of the above described public improvement and work, was heretofore made and entered Into with C. A. Rasmussen, Inc., on the 27th day of July, 1992, and filed for record In the office of the City Clerk of the City of Santa Clarfta; that the work upon said public Improvement was actually completed on the 17th day of February, 1993, and that the Director of Community Development has notified the City Council that she has made and completed a final Inspection of the materials furnished and Installed and the work performed in the construction, Installation and completion of said public Improvement hereinabove more particularly described and set forth, and has certified In writing to the City Council that all of the provisions of the contract and contract documents for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and the performing of all work necessary for the construction, Installation and completion of said public Improvement above described have been fully complied with to her satisfaction as required by the contract documents; that final acceptance of the construction, installation and completion of said public Improvement above described was made on the 23rd day of February, 1993, that the nature of the title to said property of said City of Santa Clartta Is as follows: that Is to say, it owns said public Improvement In fee except for the right-of-way upon which it Is constructed, and that it owns an easement upon, over and along said rfght-of-way for the purpose of the construction, Installation, and completion of said public Improvement hereinabove described and the use thereof after said completion; that the property hereinabove referred to and on which said public Improvement is situated Is described as follows: Soledad Canyon Road @ Commuter Way City Manager Item to be pr s r / CONSENT CALENDAR - DATE: February 23,1993 SUBJECT: COMMUTER RAIL STATION - PROJECT PROJECT ACCEPTANCE , my J.
