HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-07-13 - AGENDA REPORTS - CYNCNTRY PROJ 25 99026 227 (2)AGENDA REPORT CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: JULY 13, 1993 City Manager Approval Item to be presented Rick Putn 7,'7 SUBJECT: AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR HILLSIDE REINFORCEMENT FOR TWO SLOPES AT CANYON COUNTRY PARK (Project #25-99026-227) DEPARTMENT: PARKS, RECREATION & COMMUNITY SERVICES BACKGROUND On July 1, 1993, the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department successfully completed the bid opening for two slope reinforcement projects at Canyon Country Park. The project is necessary due to the severe slope damage suffered during the heavy rains of the last two years. The project will include wood and metal reinforcements, as well as a soil compaction and inspection. The project is funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Construction is planned to begin in late July and work is to be completed within 30 working days. This schedule will allow establishment of landscape material before the rains of fall and winter arrive. There were three bids purchased for the slope reconstruction. One company, C.A. Rasmussan of Simi Valley, elected not to bid on the project. Below is a list of the other two companies who submitted bids for the July 1, 1993, opening. Company R.C. The total project budget is for $56,005. The upper slope. budget is for $40,000 while the lower slope budget is for $16,005.
